I recently picked up Memoirs of a Geisha from a friend’s place, a rather ‘old’ book by now, I know. The novel is a brilliantly written first-person account of the life of a giesha, Nitta Sayuri or Chiyo, written by a guy(Arthur Golden) from Tennessee, USA of all places.
